Welcome to the Business Department
At Key Stage 3, pupils gain an introduction to the world of business through engaging Young Enterprise seminars.
Key Stage 3 Highlights
- Year 9: 'Blast Off' — Students embark on an exciting journey, experiencing what it takes to start a business. This programme aims to provide an entrepreneurial experience while enhancing employability skills.
- Year 10: 'Project Business' — Students take on the role of small business owners, working alongside a business volunteer to gain practical insights into business operations.
GCSE
Pupils follow the CCEA GCSE Business Studies specification. This course lays a strong foundation for further study at GCE AS and A2 Level and helps students develop transferable skills beneficial for any career path.
The specification encourages students to investigate business start-ups, explore contemporary topics such as e-business and m-business, and understand key human resource functions.

A-Level
Pupils follow the CCEA Business Studies specification at A-Level, developing valuable transferable skills that prepare them for higher education or employment. The specification offers insights into how businesses meet stakeholders' needs, risk management, and ethical responsibilities.
AS Level
Year 13Can be taken as a standalone qualification or combined with A2.
