Welcome to the MFL Department
At Key Stage 3, students in Years 8 to 10 have the opportunity to study both French and Spanish. The Modern Foreign Languages curriculum at this stage equips pupils with a comprehensive understanding of essential vocabulary and grammar in the target languages, laying a solid foundation for those opting to pursue GCSE language courses.
Throughout these years, students are encouraged to confidently employ basic vocabulary pertinent to everyday situations. They begin to grasp grammatical concepts, applying them in translation exercises and in interactions with teachers and peers in the target language.
